
Classes
Pre-school – Kindergarten
- 45-minute class per week
- Creative movement, Ballet and Tap
Class consists of basic ballet movements utilizing ballet positions and basic tap sounds. Emphasis is on basic locomotor development, rhythm, and creative expression. Our little ones learn to enter the world of dance in a playful and imaginative manner.
1st – 2nd Grades
- 45-minute class per week
- Pre-Jazz and Tap
Class consists of pre-jazz and tap with emphasis on flexibility and strengthening exercises. Introduction of double and triple tap sounds and beginning jazz technique focusing on basic jazz steps building and isolations. Students will develop an appreciation for dance in a non-competitive and positive self-esteem environment.
3rd – 4th Grades
- 45-minute class per week
- Jazz and Tap
Class consists of jazz and tap with emphasis on more technical moves as they develop further poise, balance and coordination. Mastering some basic tap fundamentals such as shuffle ball change, shuffle hop step, flap heels, etc. Basic jazz steps and combinations are introduced in a more disciplined environment.
5th – 7th Grades
- 1-hour class per week
- Jazz, Tap and Ballet
Class consists of jazz, tap and ballet technique with more emphasis on floor combinations, proper body placement, showmanship and style. Tap work consists of multiple tap sounds and students will begin developing strength, flexibility, stamina, coordination and discipline required to become a well-rounded dancer.
8th – 12th Grades
- 1-hour class per week
- Jazz, Tap and Lyrical
Class consists of further development in all areas of dance. Emphasis on perfecting and polishing a higher degree of jazz, tap and lyrical technique. Class structure is primarily geared toward a well rounded and stylized dancer who can perform with showmanship, style and grace.
